Visitor Visa for Family
Requirements:
- A letter of invitation from a family member or friend in Canada is an important supporting document when applying for a Visitor Visa or when extending your stay. This letter should clearly state who is inviting you, their status in Canada, the purpose of your visit, where you will stay, and how long you plan to remain in the country. Although the letter itself does not guarantee approval, it helps immigration officers better understand your reason for visiting and the support you will have during your stay.
- Along with the invitation letter, financial documents from both the applicant and the host are mandatory. These documents demonstrate that you—and if applicable, your host—have sufficient funds to cover your expenses while in Canada, including accommodation, food, travel, and any other costs. Financial proof may include bank statements, employment letters, pay stubs, tax documents, or proof of savings. Showing strong financial capability helps convince IRCC that you will not need to rely on public funds during your visit.
- In addition to financial proof, you must also show strong ties to your home country. These ties reassure the immigration officer that you have compelling reasons to return home after your authorized stay.
