Post Graduate Work Permit (PGWP)
The post-graduate work permit program allows the students who have graduated from the Designated Learning Institute (DLI) to get an open work permit. The program opted for by the student should be full-time for a length of a minimum of 8 months. The PGWP can be valid for up to 3 years, but the timeline also depends on the duration of the study program(s) completed.
PGWP can play a very vital role in your pathway to Permanent Residence. If the work experience is gained in NOC skill type 0 or skill level A or B through the PGWP program, the graduate can qualify for PR through the Canadian Experience Class within Express Entry.
